| The
2008 Promotion |
| Dear Parents/Guardians, |
| Since 1992 Tesco has delivered
more than £118 million worth of computer equipment to
schools. We would like to claim equipment for CVC again this
year and are asking you to collect the special Tesco Computers
for Schools vouchers at the checkout every time you shop or
buy petrol at Tesco. |
 |
In 2007,
with your support, the College managed to collect 41,595 vouchers
including 220 vouchers from recycling used printer cartridges
and old mobile phones. We were able to 'purchase' four digital
imaging projectors which are now being used by pupils in the
Science Laboratories. In 2006 we were able to 'purchase' two
notebook computers, which are being used by pupils in the Centre.
|
| We would
like to do better than last year and increase the number of
vouchers collected. CVC starts with 4,395 vouchers which were
'banked' in 2007 and we have set an overall target of 43,500
for 2008. As always, we depend on your help and generosity. |
| This year, the Tesco Computers
for Schools scheme started on Monday 3 March and runs until
Sunday 11 May. Customers receive one voucher for every £10
spent in a single transaction in any Tesco store or petrol filling
station during this period. |
| Please give any vouchers you collect
to your child to bring into school to add to our collection.
At the end of the promotion, hopefully, we will have collected
enough vouchers to exchange for new items of computer-based
equipment. |
| There are collecting boxes in School
Reception, outside the School Office and in the Reception area
of CB3. We are collecting the vouchers until the end of June.
Any vouchers received after this date will be banked for 2009. |
| Please ask your friends and relatives
- in fact anyone you know - to collect vouchers for us! |
| We can collect even more Computers
for Schools vouchers if you recycle your used inkjet cartridges
and old mobile phones (see below). |
| Thank you in anticipation. |

This year, the collection points for computer vouchers at CVC
are as follows:
- School Reception Window (public entrance).
- Outside the School Admin Office (on hatch).
- Reception area at CB3 (public entrance). |
|
| The
Small Print |
| One Computers for Schools
voucher is given for every £10 spent in Tesco stores and
petrol filling stations in a single transaction (excluding purchases
from Concessions, Tobacco Kiosk, prescription medicines, infant
formulae or the sale of National Lottery tickets and scratch
cards). |
| One Computers for Schools voucher is given
for every £5 spent in Tesco Express stores (subject to
the above exclusions). |
| For every working phone donated, CVC will be
given 30 Computers for Schools vouchers, and 5 for a non-working
phone. |
| For all information about mobile phone recycling,
please visit the mobile
phone recycling website. All mobile phones can be either
reused or recycled - no matter the age, make, model or working
condition. Customers then donate their vouchers to CVC and we
exchange the vouchers for computer equipment. |
| For every empty
inkjet cartridge you send in that can be recycled, CVC will
be given 10 Computers for Schools vouchers. Download the full
list of inkjet
and toner cartridges (.pdf) that can be recycled through
the scheme. Please be warned that Tescos do not accept
Epson cartridges. |
