The College Library
Library Code of Conduct
At Comberton Village College we are privileged to have our library resources and space as a pleasant working environment and the code below is designed to encourage thoughtful use of these facilities. You are reminded that the library is NOT a social area.
When using the library you are expected to pay attention to the following:
Environment
No coats or hoodies are allowed.
No eating or chewing is allowed (drinking water is allowed but not near the computers).
Leave desks and chairs as they are arranged.
Behaviour
Enter the library quietly.
When returning books, do so on your own.
Do not roam around. Either choose a book or sit down and work sensibly.
The ACT, SAFE and PEOPLE codes all apply in the library.
If you are noisy or disrespectful, you will be asked to leave, or risk being banned (Your form tutor and Head of Year will be informed immediately).
When sent to the library during a lesson, please advise library staff of the reason.
Library Areas
There are Silent and Quiet working areas and Computer work stations:
The space beyond the arches is for SILENT work only.
The space as you enter the library where desks are grouped is a QUIET working area.
At the Computer work stations, you are asked to observe the following:

Only 2 people to a computer.
Priority of use will be given to those pupils undertaking research and word processing.
Checking personal emails: this is allowed ONLY for 5 minutes at a time and ONLY if computers are not required for school work.
Printing - ask before you print . You will be charged for 5 pence per sheet for printing in colour so be careful what you print! (Also, if you are careless in printing in black and white, you may be charged!)
